Food, bottles etc

My baby hardly eats any solid food but still loves milk. He isn’t showing any signs of wanting to drop a bottle and still has 4 7oz bottles a day. I feel like I need to try and help him reduce milk in the hope that he’ll eat more but I also am a bit skeptical of this as I just think he’s still not going to eat much and then will be hungry and malnourished. This is our current routine, although it does vary based on how long he naps some days. I always leave a gap between milk and food to give him time to get hungry and he always finishes his bottles so definitely still wants them and so if I remove them will surely be uncomfortably hungry 😭. Any advice????? Wake - 6/6.30 Bottle - 7 Breakfast - 8.30/9 Nap 9.30 Bottle - 11 Lunch - 1 Nap - 2 Bottle - 3.45 Dinner - 5 Bottle 6.45 Bed - 7

Hello! 🤍✨ My baby was similar, she was having average 32oz 🫣 & smashing every bottle. But we’ve changed to 5oz instead of 7/8 & she’s not been fussed & now eats wayy more food.. might be worth trying.. xxxx

Oh just looked at your day, I do a little different.. the bottles after naps, I do food, then bottle half hour before nap. So food first for lunch & dinner. Xxx

Nope. Milk should be the majority of their diet till 18mths and then slowly drop them. Start with dropping post nap feeds and Finish with dropping night feeds as they’re the most important for brain development

Following as our baby is exactly the same! Still drinking 4 7oz per day and not very interested in solid food…

I would swap to food first then milk, this is what helped us to go from 4 bottles to 3

@CeeCee when you say food before bottle, so where he has bottle at 11 and food at 1, I can’t feed him lunch at 11. And where he has milk at 3.45 and dinner at 5, I can’t give him dinner at 3.45? I’m so confused 🤦🏼‍♀️

When he wakes from nap, do a little play then lunch… then 15/20 mins before nap do bottle 🤍✨ that’s what I changed too.. so she’s hungrier for food.. ♥️ before I used to give milk as soon as she woke up. For example - wake 11am - lunch 12/12.30 - bottle 2pm - nap 2.30ish Xxxx

@Alishya would you mind sharing your timings for bottles, food, naps please. I’m really struggling to figure out what the day would look like. 🤦🏼‍♀️

If I were you I would do: Breakfast 6.45/7 Bottle 9 Nap 9.30 Lunch 12/12.15 Bottle 1.45 Nap 2 Dinner 5 Bottle 6.45 Bed 7

Almost exactly what @CeeCee said 🩷✨ Bottle 6.30 Breakfast 8 Bottle 9.15 Nap 9.30 Lunch 12.30 Bottle 2 Nap 2.30 Dinner 5.30 Bottle 7 Bed 7.30 Does that help? 🤍✨ I really could drop that very first bottle when she wakes, but it’s for me really! 🫣🤣 so I can have coffee ☕️ ♥️ but I could skip & offer food first I think.. Xxxx
