Dilute juice?

I try to be healthy but realistic with my little boys diet. He doesn't really have anything with added sugar or chocolate. He's had a horrible viral cough for ages which isn't clearing and I don't think he is really well enough hydrated which isn't helping. He drinks water but not much. Would you give him very diluted juice in this scenario? I don't want to end up in the position that he won't drink plain water as he wants only juice.

I give my LG heavily diluted juice when she's ill, she recovers much quicker with more liquid and the milk just makes a cough worse, in my opinion it's your call as a mum. You could try adding fruit slices into the water to add flavour if you are overly worried, that's what I did initially to get her to drink water.

@Laura thanks, think it's just reassuring to hear someone else's advice! He still has a fair bit of milk which I don't think helps. Juice is just one of those things I didn't want to do but you're right it's important he drinks and it would be very dilute

Diluted juice is the lesser of two evils in this scenario for me, my LG constantly has an illness at the moment and the last thing I want to happen is for dehydration to happen or for the milk to make it harder for her to breathe. I think the fact that you are conscious about it means that you are a great mum and you would give juice etc appropriately.
