I'm assuming you've not been tracking ovulation? Are you able to identify when you may have conceived that might help give you an idea. As above mentioned it will likely be easiest for them to scan you to get an accurate idea. EPU should be able to arrange that given the circumstances x
@Tee I have an appointment on 5th December for recurrent miscarriages as I’ve had 3 this year but the nurse told me when they referred me that if I fall pregnant before the appointment I should still go and they will do a scan anyway x
Ah not long till you find out then! Congratulations I hope you have a very healthy and happy pregnancy xx May I ask how you feel, please message me if you are okay with it? I am currently ttc after my mmc at 12 weeks and I am so nervous about how I’ll feel with that positive test and pregnancy when it finally happens! X
@Cara I have been trying to but it’s all been all over the place I have an idea of when conception could have happened as I track when we BD but I’m still not certain - I didn’t even think I was pregnant it was my partner who thought it and got me to do the test 😅 xx
I would maybe just tell them roughly when you think going off what you have tracked and they should be able to confirm with the scan, congrats and goodluck, hope everything goes well in your pregnancy xx
@Cara thank you xx
@Tee Thankyou and as soon as my partner stood in the living room telling me and showing the positive test I did cry and I am terrified but I’m trying not to worry so much as I know it’s not good and I’m trying not to over test like I did last time xx
Did you have your ectopic pregnancy removed via surgery?
@Kaitlyn no I refused the surgery and waited for it to resolve naturally so had to keep going back for bloods to ensure my hcg was coming down then after a week they made me do a pregnancy test which was negative so they discharged me officially x
Oh right. I only asked as I had the surgery 3 weeks ago and I know you’re not actually meant to try conceive unless you’ve had 2 periods so you prevent the risk of having another ectopic pregnancy, also you’re classed as high risk from the ectopic and would need to ring the early pregnancy unit and get seen straight away due to being high risk. Not sure if that’s the case for you but that’s what I was told xx
@Kaitlyn we haven’t tried to conceive but haven’t done anything to prevent it - the hospital didn’t mention anything about starting to try again but that I needed to get a negative test x
I do know you’re meant to have a period first. Maybe just mention it when you go for an appointment next month. Congratulations tho, fingers crossed you get your scan. X
@Kaitlyn oh right, I’ll query that as they only mentioned waiting to try if I took the surgery/medical option they didn’t mention nothing when I decided to wait it out
I was in the same boat with my last pregnancy and the midwife just sent me for an early scan so they could see how far along I was - turned out to be 8 weeks x Maybe when you notify the doctors just explain and they should send you for a scan xx
