Breast milk in bottle

Do you dry sterilised bottles? Really confused because the self-sterilising bottles say to leave them in tact to keep sterilised so would I put the milk in straight away or dry them first? Wouldn’t it be bad for tap water to be in the bottle? But drying would make it no longer sterile? So confused and trying to give my baby a bottle of my breast milk for the first time tonight 🤣

You don't dry as yes would make not sterile anymore. But you also don't need to sterilise for breast milk it's just soap and water. Sterilising is for the powdered formula to help fight the bacteria that may be in the powder xx

@Zoe oh perfect thank you so much!xx

NHS states to sterilise all equipment and bottles regardless if formula or breast milk… I don’t dry mine though ☺️

I’ve never sterilized a bottle. Baby has never had an issue. Hot water and soap works for us.

I’d still sterilise but don’t dry. I sometimes just shake out excess water x

i just put mine on a towel to dry and they dry pretty quick

I used two methods. I either microwave steam sterilise or leave in a Milton solution. I don't dry with either method. I just put them together and before I put the lid on I tip it upside down for any signigication moisture to come out straight away. The amount of water on there is minimal and if it's stem sterilisation the water is sterile

I dont dry bottle as defeat object of sterilising
