Scared of changing tables?

My daughter is all of the sudden terrified of being on a changing table. She’s fine standing but as soon as you lay her down she gets so scared and will try gripping onto anything just terrified. She hasn’t fallen off of anything and I’m always right next to her. I’m with her 24/7 so I know no one else has dropped her. Has anyone else delt with this?

Yesss my daughter is the same way and I have no idea why

I read somewhere recently that 18-20 months is when they start being scared of things and can potentially even get nightmares/nightterrors

My daughter doesn't like public changing tables, and I also have no idea why lol. It does help if I tell her what's going on and give her a toy or book (or something she's usually not allowed to have, like keys) and she's okay.

My son is the same way. It's like he is deathly scared of them. I don't know why

Yes my baby all the sudden hates changing tables it freaks him out but noone besides me has ever changed him not even his dad so i know its not trauma i guess its just a strange feeling laying up high on a surface like that especially as their senses and depth perception develops

My son has always been like this with public changing tables, so I try to change in the car instead of in the store.

Ayden hates being laid on his back to be changed at all, but he's always hated to be on his back and would rather move ( yes, he's fallen a few times, but that s honestly a moot point )

Yes, both kids became this way at some point. Try changing them standing when possible or lay them on the floor :)
