Fall off bed

My baby has had her first fall off the bed. I'm devastated. I was getting dressed and my husband was on the bed with her. He then for whatever reason got up and within seconds she'd gone head first over the edge of the bed onto an extension lead full of plugs. I don't know what possessed him to turn his back to her and I'm livid as I'm always telling him to keep an eye on her and he brushes me off like I'm exaggerating. I've just been crying my eyes out because I'm so upset about it and I'm still shaking. She didn't cry for long and we managed to distract and calm her down quite quickly and I can't see any marks or bruises. To be honest it could have been a lot worse given what else was down beside the bed but I'm just so upset. Anyone else had a similar incident with their baby and can reassure me?

Keep a close eye on her for tiredness and keep her awake for 2 hours after it happened as long as she is her usual self then she should be okay xx

My little girl down this today trying to walk and off the bed many times with both kids some by accident some them just throwing themselves off when they start crawling you are fine x

I think you've done amazing to get this far without one! Falls seem inevitable as they move around more. We've had a couple since baby started rolling. Sounds like you're a very caring mother doing your best and I'm sure your husband is too. Mistakes happen, all we can do is learn from them :) I'm not qualified to advise on onward care but have been told by docs that head injuries can make them sleepy and that's fine to let them do, just check on them occasionally for any unusual signs. Go easy on yourself or any concerns call 111

Twice fallen off the bed and once off the changing table. It’s scary but it happens and they are designed to bounce. There will be a lot more bumps when they start moving

Last month my girl crawled off the bed. We hadn't even turned our backs she was just so quick, we couldn't catch her in time. She went face first, her body was up the bed, the image haunts me. I completely freaked and went straight to A&E because of the way she landed.
