Honestly, i’m terrified! 😂 I’ve started looking into my birth plan and options. I recommend watching people’s birth vlogs or birth stories so you can have an idea of people’s experiences with all sorts of births. It’s important to plan for every possibility- you can have your plan which is what you wish will happen but make sure you know what you want if any of those things are not possible ❤️ xx

Yes haha I watched some vlogs some of them are horror stories infact MOST of them are horror stories lol xx

@Chelsea Yes some scare me 😂 but it is also good to know that is a possibility and to prepare for it xx

I’d like to add make sure that your birth partner is fully aware of your wishes - give them copies and MAKE SURE they go through it. With my first there was points during my labour that I was out of it and unable to advocate for my self and because I’d made it clear they were able to advocate on my behalf 🙃 Make a plan for every situation- natural/if you need an induction/need interventions/need a c-section etc My birth plan is literally no plan outside of no epidural (didn’t have one with my induction with my first or my second, I’m not caving now! 😂) - it’s likely going to be very quick for me and as long as we are both happy/healthy and safe. Excited to get this damn baby out of me - I’m so tired 🥴😴

I’m so excited! I feel like such a weirdo 😂 but we were literally made for this. Yes it will be painful, but we are programmed for this!

I am excited to meet baby and in another way feeling nervous for the labour. As you said it doesn’t go always to plan I hope to get a water birth. I hope the bath will be available and hope are little one will show up in the bath sometimes it takes too long and they transfer you to the labour ward.

I was so excited to give birth with my girl but ended up with an induction/emcs at 15 days overdue and meconium in waters. Quite different from my hope of a water birth. I’m really on board with the physiological side of birth though and so was excited to labour and work with my body. This didn’t happen that time but I’m hopeful we can this time. I would suggest The Positive Birth Company for birth stories and advice and Midwife Pip podcast. These cover births of all kinds but the aim is to have an empowered & positive birth however the delivery goes. I did so much research last time and had plans for if things didn’t go plan A so thought I was prepared but because I was so hopeful my plan would work out, it hit me hard when it didn’t and affected me for a while after. There is so much you can’t control. I need to be careful this time too not to get too fixated on my ideal birth. But generally excited about the idea of labour. My favourite part of birth was the contractions.

Is it right that we can't go over by two weeks anymore? Only by one week now?

@Linsey unfortunately it’s still 2 weeks, but I was told they sometimes induce around 10 days after your due date 🤷🏼‍♀️

I can’t wait 😛 I so enjoyed my first labour. Planned homebirth this time and I’m looking forward to it

I found my baby classes (doing HPHB) helped so much to explain what would happen and how to cope - they were realistic and helped to prep for when things go wrong but also positive towards it!

Nerves are starting to kick in more as I know in 8 weeks it will all be happening. I had quite a traumatic birth with my first only in January. So I keep worrying I’ll go into labour earlier and it’s going to end in traumatic again. Hoping things go as planned and I’ll have a much more relaxed birth with an elective c section.

@Linsey I think it depends on the trust where I’m at the don’t go over 7 days unless you say you don’t want to but they prefer to do it by then.

@Siobhan ah i see. Interesting how it differs between trusts. I feel i would prefer to be able to go the two weeks if baby is comfy. Im sure they have estimated my due date a little sooner than it is. By a week or so.

Yeh I was booked in for an induction at exactly 41 weeks but I had enough by then. However I ended up with sepsis so ended up being induced at 40+4. It’s your choice if you body hasn’t made that choice for you before ☺️

@Siobhan ah yeah, i guess all sorts of things could happen in the meantime. And maybe desperate to just not be pregnant anymore 😂 I didn't realise it could still be our choice if there are no issues. I was told my trust goes 41 weeks, so i thought that was the limit

Wish you beautiful ladies a VERY safe delivery x
