My friends niece is 2.5 and doesn’t attend nursery and her parents don’t take her to ‘busy’ places in fear of germs; she’s had hand, foot and mouth multiple times, colds, covid and ended up in hospital cos her immune system can’t fight then off. My daughters been in nursery since June as a necessity and it is rough some weeks/months, but if you can afford time off when they’re poorly it’s a different ball game.
My LO has been going 2 days for 3 months and absolutely loves it! I will say for the first 2 months we were basically one week on / one week off in terms of bugs but it was short lived and absolutely no illnesses since. Even if you do decide to hold off putting her in nursery, she’ll likely go through the same thing later down the line. It’s been amazing for my daughter so definitely don’t let it put you off, they’re quick in building up their immunity xx
It's a cold a few bugs it actually builds up the immune system nothing bad. But when they start school they will be the same. So don't let that put you off. between my 5 year old and 1 year old both in school me a nurse and my wife a police officer the bugs are endless between us but we started taking vitamin d and touch wood it's been so much better only me who got poorly with a sinus infection x
My daughter goes to nursery 2 days a week and is thriving. She learns a lot and they do sooo many activities there. I was really sad when she started going in August but once she was there I got a breather and haven’t looked back. Regarding illness etc. I do understand this but don’t let this be the reason she doesn’t go. She can catch an illness in a shop or a park or anywhere really.
