Thank you! This helped ease my mind. If you or anyone else has any tips for better eating habits it would be greatly appreciated! Main meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are a struggle and she just prefers to snack most of the time.
It's just the phase they're in honestly. I try to make sure to offer a food she'll usually eat with each meal and a snack with a good amount of fat and protein in it before bed if she didn't eat very well during the day, like yogurt or peanut butter. Sometimes changing scenery helps; I've had luck with having her stand at the kitchen counter on her step stool to eat instead of sitting at the table. I've heard that some people dim the lights or eat by candlelight and that also helps them focus. Smoothies are also a good option if you can get your kid to drink them (mine won't) Its pretty normal for toddlers to be grazers!
Like just to make you feel better yesterday my daughter ate a few bites of waffle, a couple of cheese sticks, a bite of a slider, a few chips, and frosting. (It was her birthday party hence the junk food). Today she ate like half a serving of Mac and cheese over the course of two meals; she didn't finish it with her lunch so I saved it for dinner. I think she ate almost a whole fried egg at breakfast. And she had a cookie and a few bites of yogurt. That was NOT all the food she was offered. I keep pediasure on hand too for when I'm concerned 😂😂😂
You are amazing! I appreciate this more than you know. 🙌🏻
And thank you for coming in with zero judgement of this post!
My son is same , very very picky eater . What helps me sometime is to take the fruit bowl and eat in front of him . I eat few bites then offer my husband, after that mostly he will run and start eating from my bowl or I offer him and he says okay . Atleast he takes few bites . Eating together same food really helps .
I also found my son didn’t put on much weight the last 6 months or so when he got super mobile and active he just didn’t put weight on despite eating and it’s totally normal! Hopefully if your daughter has her 2 year appt coming up the doctor can put your mind at ease as well
My son is also a verrrryyyyyy picky eater. Lol he even makes face when he doesn't want to try something. Ugh we're all in the same boat I hope this is just a phase, because believe me I stress too!
My daughter is 22lbs
My daughter just turned 2 and she's been around 24 lbs for ages!
