Handing out on Christmas Day is madness, we display Christmas cards at home on the run up to Christmas - they’re part of the decorations!!
Part of the decs! We give them out around 2 weeks before Xmas so they can be enjoyed alongside their Xmas decs before the Christmas season is over

If you're physically handing them out, then the last time you're going to see the person before Christmas. If you're posting them, then they'll need to be posted a few weeks before to get there in time. If you're going to be seeing them on Christmas Day, then give card and presents on the day like with a birthday.
