@Amber My iron has been low my entire pregnancy, I’ve had to get iron transfusions, as for my vitamin D I’m not sure they won’t test me for it. I’m not sure what symptoms I should be looking out for because when I brought up how my feet and legs swell and how I’m constantly just feeling sick and dizzy and like I can’t get out of bed because it hurts to get up or sit down or literally move at all they told me I was fine..
100 percent I would advocate for you to get a second opinion or seek out another doctor. If they are dismissive of how you are feeling or what your body is telling you then they aren't a very good doctor in my opinion.
@Megan the staff at the hospital and doctors office honestly make me feel so dramatic when I go in, they tell me I’m not dilated and my contractions though regular, aren’t strong enough and that I’m fine and just send me home, they never check anything and then I literally limp out or have to get wheeled out because I can’t walk.. they just keep saying it’s normal and I’m scared out of my mind because I’m in so much pain and this doesn’t feel normal.
I honestly hate that for you. I had a very similar experience with my first one. If you have a different hospital near you that you could go to that would be helpful but it's such a shame when you aren't able to advocate for yourself with your doctors. You know your body better than anyone else and doctors and nurses should be listening to you instead of dismissing you
@Megan the only other one near me is an extra 45 minutes away.. my hospital is already 30 something minutes away, and being GBS positive I have to be at least somewhat near my hospital
Yeah than I would definitely push to see another doctor or another nurse. There isn't just one doctor or one nurse on staff. You can also ask to speak to the patient advocate at the hospital. Every hospital is supposed to have one by law. The patient advocate is supposed to help when you feel like your voice isn't being heard or your concerns aren't being addressed.
Could definitely be low vit D. Id ask for a test or find someone else if they won't do it. They work for you remember. Low Vit D can cause pain. Sick and dizzy could be caused from low iron or just 3rd trimester changes.
I could have written this minus the high blood pressure. I spent all of November in and out of the hospital. Literally admitted for 2+ weeks due to uncontrollable vomiting. I’m on a liquid diet until baby is here. I’m truly suffering
@Lauren oh girl I’m sorry, we are going through it huh
Ok im glad that this didn't just happen to me recently. My dr brushed off the same issue with me!! My BP has never been over 108/62 basically my entire pregnancy but the last 2 apts it's been 132/94 and ive had migraines daily the past week and have extreme dizzy spells and have actually blacked out a few times. This is my 4th baby so I know what's normal feeling and what's not and my dr keeps telling me it's fine and nothing to worry about
How are your iron and vit D levels? Also magnesium? Maybe get a 2nd opinion? Do you have the symptoms of preeclampsia?
