@Chelsea I’m glad it’s not just me! I wouldn’t mind but I can feel myself getting annoyed with people when I know they’re only trying to help. Like my MIL will always walk straight out of the living room into the kitchen no joke the second she gets him, as soon as he’s in her arms she walks out of the room and it drives me absolutely insane. Do I trust her? Yes. Do I think whilst she’s a few steps away in the kitchen with him anything bad will happen? No. But it just drives me mad I get so angry every time and I don’t know why. I just want my baby in my sight 😭xx
You’re defo not alone in feeling this way and I think it’s natural and your mother’s intuition. Is there any way you can express how you’re feeling to your MIL in a general way (so it’s not like you’re making it about her but more about his you’re feeling) and see how she responds. Or maybe have baby in a carrier/wrap on you so people can’t pick them up. I think the older generation don’t get it as much but worth trying to be open about your feelings and go your partner too. My boy is nearly 6 weeks and I wouldn’t want him out my sight unless it was with my hubby, Mum or someone like my doula I had. Sending you ♥️
This is a very normal feeling. It’s a protective factor. My husband offers the twins round to anyone who wants a hold whereas unless someone actively asks or I really need a hand my babies stay with me!
My baby is 7 weeks too and I honestly feel exactly the same! It gives me knots in my stomach even the thought of him being out of my sight and I feel so uncomfortable when someone else has hold of him!! No advice but I know how you’re feeling!x
