Plus sperm can stay alive inside you for sumit like 2-3 days so may not have fertilised the egg on that first day. Gross, I know 🤣 I had IUI but my 12 week scan they gave me a different date...added another 2 days to what I had calculated
My EDD based on the last day of my period has been so far accurate (although baby probs won’t arrive on that date 😆)When I calculated it, I had the 24th down and when I went for my 12 week scan and they did the measurements, it only changed a day to the 25th. Interestingly I told them I had a 35 day cycle but they just did it on whatever the average is which I think it’s 28 xx
If you go by conception date, 8th December. Have you not been given an EDD by midwives through your pregnancy?
Just thought I'd say my EDD is 4 days different to when we had sex so I wouldn't say it's that accurate. What I mean is I conceived on day 18 and when I had dating scan it was 4 days different to the date via conception EDD. X
As they said, you cant actually know the conception date! Everything is an estimate anyway, the official one will be based on the scan measurements. Funnily enough, based on my period my due date was supposed to be 11 Oct, the scan put me a week ahead with due date 4 Oct. LO was born on the 11th 😂😂
@Chloe I think she’s due now based on the last period (Feb) so has had first scan
@Rachel yes sorry just realised that 😂😂
@Chloe tbf it took me a few reads haha x
EDDs are generated by your last period until your 12 week scan. It is then determined by the size of the fetus. This is the most accurate they can be.
The day you had sex doesn’t necessarily mean you conceived on that date. Unless you know the exact day you ovulated (not usually possible) then it’s easier to go off of the last period. They will adjust it when you go in for your first scan, and go off how big baby is measuring etc. usually you can only know your exact due date based off conception if you have ivf xx
