I’ve been high risk from day one since we used IVF.
I’ve been high risk since the beginning because of my crohns medication. I see an MFM once a month and will move to every other week during the third trimester. I get ultrasounds at every visit and, thank goodness, everything has been completely normal. I think extra growth scans and bloodwork are a good thing because it’s a way to validate that everything is okay especially if you’ve been so sick (I have gallstones even after my gallbladder was removed last year and they are SO painful). I understand freaking out a little but try to reframe the extra care your getting as extra reassurance that everything is okay.
I was classified as high risk at my first appointment bc of the type of twins I'm having and have been seeing an MFM ever since. They do ultrasounds every two weeks..so far everything has been good even though I'm high risk, just getting extra tests. Hopefully the extra oversight will help them intervene quickly if they do find something starts to go wrong.
