Baby milestones

I've been told not to get caught up on when babies reach their milestones but my little one seems to be doing things extra early. She's been able to roll over since 3 days old, support her own head when I'm lifting her from 7/8 days and the first time we attempted tummy time at 14 days she lifted her head and looked round herself. She can focus and follow faces. There's been a few occasions where her tummy has been in the next to me next to her and when I look back round its in her mouth. I haven't seen how she's doing it but she's putting it in somehow. Shes super aware of her hands. She's only 3 weeks old and feel like my newborn isn't a newborn already. She's so alert. Is there a downside to hitting milestones so early?

I've been reading that sometimes what seems like strength is actually tension and tight muscles from birth, cranio sacral therapy is meant to be good for this if that's something you think might be having an effect x

Newborns can roll then lose the skill

Those who reach milestones early usually are speech delayed or so I’ve heard. Walkers before talkers

I would maybe get a physio assessment as early rolling and lifting head can often be a sign of muscle tension or torticollis.

@Natalie Yes. We’ve been doing this after getting my LG’s tongue tie cut and he said her good head control and strength is actually from tension so we’ve had a couple of sessions x

I’ve taken my 5 week old to the osteopath because she can lift her head quite a bit too, it’s usually caused by tension.
