Oh man that’s great! What did they do in physical therapy if you don’t mind me asking? PT comes over but idk if he needs to see other kids to get it.
They were holding his legs and moving him forward they did it for about 10-15mins. He just kept on stepping forward and eventually did it himself
It might just be a personality thing (we have a very cautious first born, like both his mama and dada). Our first started to take mini steps at like 14.5 and walked holding hands etc at 15 months, but it wasn't until about 16 months (also when he started daycare) that he would walk on his own, without us cheering/encouraging him to. He was cautious with slides or sliding down a hill, really anything new. I'm sure it will come, esp if you're seeing PT.
My second born walked at 17 months.... Before that he walked on his knees for weeks and weeks.... He still jumps on his knees 😅 He's stubborn and didn't feel like walking or possibly was nervous
Thanks ladies! His PT says that he isn’t strong enough and I need to do more exercises. He hates it and gets so upset but eventually gets it. I’ll just keep trying
My lg is 20 months old and still not walking unaided. Just taking it at her own pace
I notice it’s common in boys to walk late. My son walked at 14 months, he would walk around the house holding on to the wall for months.. still a lazy kid and hates walking, he would say straight up I like car rides not walking.
25 months old and not walking independently. He is extremely cautious and also has hyper-mobility. He crawled at 21 months and he loves walking holding onto our hands so far. He sees a PT once a week and it helps but he’s also just taking his time.
Thank you all for sharing! It puts this mommas heart at ease knowing that I’m not alone in this stage of his life.
Mine didn’t start walking till 17 months. He preferred to crawl and resisted walking was scared of change. We took him for physical therapy for kids and he started walking on the second visit.
