I need help 😂

I’m a first time mum, Baby girl is 6 months next week. How do I start foods ?! She is having a bottle every 4 hours, so what do I do? Do I do meals or just let her taste things? And when do I start taking away bottles? Hopefully someone can help as I have no idea what I’m doing 😭

You just go with your baby, everyone is different. Try giving food 3h after bottle so she eats something but is not very hungry and fussy, also not sleepy. I will give just boiled veg at first to take in hand and try and after like a month will start doing more like meals 🙂

They should reduce the amount of milk they take naturally on their own but try and keep them having the same number of bottles as food before 1 is just for fun and milk should still be their main source of nutrition

I just started trying my boy with porridge on a morning but I give him 5 ounces an hour before (normally 7) then put the extra two ounces in with his porridge x

Food before one just for fun, don’t reduce milk milk is still number 1 source of nutrition x

I recommend getting the 'How to Wean your baby' book as it guides you through step by step! Was amazing for me. You don't have to follow it exactly but it has been so helpful for me x

I got a free Ella's kitchen weaning book from boots. Or there's tonnes of books, I'd recommend having a read before you start! However, don't panic you can't really go too wrong as long as your baby is having healthy foods (no salt, sugar, honey) Were doing a single pureed veg every day for 2 weeks. Then we'll start mixing it up and giving him more finger foods and allergens and breakfast too, porridge etc

It really depends how you want to wean/what style of weaning. Personally I do baby led weaning, so I basically have just given her tastes of whatever I'm eating, and then started dishing up suitably cut pieces, like broccoli florets, carrot, pasta pieces, bread sticks and cucumber etc. she's now 6.5 months and suddenly has the hang of things, today she had toast, cucumber, bread sticks, cheese pastry, slice of ham, some yogurt and tonight sausage carrot, broccoli and mash and she's really been chewing and actually eating it tonight. I personally don't physically feed my baby at all, I leave it all down to her. With milk, let her lead the way with that.
