@Danielle yes I think it’s just toodler stuff but social media is making me do double take
Our doctor said the issue is when it's rigid, when it's his sole focus for long periods of time. A couple of times per day is probably nothing. Also, our doctor said that at this age they should enjoy some hiding, peekaboo etc. If that's completely missing, it's a bigger sign for concern than stimming a couple of times per day. But of course, bring it up and see what the doctor has to say.
@M that’s good to know!! He loves playing peekaboo & “running away” to be chased and giggles during!
Haha same as my boy!
Stimming a couple of times per day is perfectly normal. My autistic son (who was diagnosed at 3 years old and is now 7) stimmed constantly (less now that we're getting him therapy to help). He also hyperfocused on wheels spinning, still does. And it takes a lot to get a response when trying to get his attention. Those are the types of things to watch for at such a young age. If you're still worried, you can also ask his doctor. They definitely understand, and it doesn't hurt to get a professional opinion, but I also wouldn't make a special appointment for it. Just mention it at his next well check if you're concerned.
@Kallie how is your son doing overall? Is he speaking?
@M overall, he's doing really well. He does speak. He did have a speech delay, but we overcame that. He's literally the biggest sweetheart.
@Kallie that's amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
Yea my son does it too, I think it’s just being a toddler for us but social media makes me double think sometimes too
