Am I cheating?

So today after lunch I had my 1h reading 8.2 ( I drink some diet coke before so I assume šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«) I didnā€™t log the reading cause I wanted to try the 2 h one.. anyway, I went for a walk, drink plenty of water and after another h was 5.9 They told me if Iā€™m not able to test after 1h, try after 2 h but it should be less than 6.4, which was ok for me. I think diet work doesnā€™t work for, as I assume this was the reason for the high one, but since I didnā€™t log the high one and log the 2 h one that means I was cheating?? I try as much as possible to avoid insulin and control it by diet only

I would log all your numbers and let them know and be honest. Usually they will put you on Metformin first before insulin. I didnā€™t want to go on any medication either. But itā€™s better that your sugars are under control and your baby isnā€™t growing too fast or getting too much sugarsā€¦ than it is to not be on any medication. It sucks! Trust me I knowā€¦ but itā€™s only temporary. Just think about whatā€™s best for baby.

@Lindsay yeah thatā€™s true.. I will log everything from now on

Log it all because it doesnā€™t necessarily mean youā€™ll have to go on medication. You know exactly what triggered the high reading so you know to stay within range via diet only, donā€™t drink Diet Coke or other fizzy drinks. I had the same issue, I drank an orange juice with my breakfast and my reading was high. I told my GD midwife the reason for the high reading and she said ah yes cut out orange juice. After that, my post breakfast readings was fine. Itā€™s all trial and error and what you can cut out to control it. I think meditation is only for ppl that whatever they do they cannot control it via diet only.

@Sheena thanks, good point
