Usually a monitoring of your blood sugars and medications if necessary. At 36 weeks though I wouldn't expect they can do too much they may ask to induce you if baby is big that's what they did when I had GD with my first x
The method of measuring it is very outdated. It creates as much as 30% false positives and for that reason I refused the blood test. Instead they can offer you the "poking device" which you need to measure your sugar for 3 days after every meal. It's more inconvenient but much more accurate (just sharing my opinion and experience)
Hey I found out I had gestational diabetes late in my pregnancy as it was missed at my appointment, I ended up having to prick my finger 3 times a day and then they gave me a little device where it measured my sugar levels where I would then input into a nhs diabetes app for my midwife to monitor. I was induced and he ended up weighing 10 pounds 8 ounces, 6 week check up he was 13pound coming upto 14 pounds 😬
If you have gestational diabetes they will ask you to monitor your sugar levels and if they don't normalise then they will put you on Metformin tablets to help regulate your blood sugar. I had this when I had my son but I found out at 28 weeks when I did the glucose test
