Trust yourself and trust your baby. Most of the time they know what to do. My son gags often when he has a piece of food stuck, nearly every time he eats he gags. This is just a learning process and it is AMAZING to let them learn how to try and help themselves. He has chocked once and as long as you are there and paying attention you will catch it and know what to do. Learn the difference between gagging and choking and trust your gut. You know your baby best. ❤️❤️

Like Mary said, trust your baby. They have a really strong gag reflex to naturally prevent choking, so don’t worry if you see a lot of gagging at the start! They’re getting used to different textures, how much food they can chew and swallow safely, etc. Once you get past the anxiety it’s really fun to watch your baby try new things for the first time and see how they react 🙂
