My In Laws are TRASH…

My husband’s grandmother is 99 and we haven’t heard from Her and tried calling all week and she never answered the phone. His parents never call and check on her ever. We wanted to invite her over for Christmas dinner. We have tried calling since Monday multiple times. She still drives (which she shouldn’t) and insists on living by herself. She is an hour and a half from us and four and a half hours from his parents. Tonight I called her township police department for a wellness check. She finally called us and yelled at my husband. When he said he was worried and wanted to ask her over for Christmas, she said “well I guess…” so he said “don’t let me twist your arm. It’s your decision. You can stay home alone if you want to” I don’t think I was wrong for being concerned about her well being or was I? I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t with him and I never cared for his parents or grandmother either 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Taylor thank you. I never understood them at all. They just want to collect her house and sell it to pocket the money cuz they’re scum 🤦🏼‍♀️ We atleast make an effort to see her, check on her, make sure she gets out once in awhile and is included in holidays. I’d give anything to have my grandparents here. I miss them every day and here is she at 99! and they can’t be bothered. It’s so sad

You're absolutely not wrong to be worried about her! I live 30 mins from my grandparents, and we keep in pretty good contact, but I'd be worried too if I hadn't heard from them.

@Rachael thank you! I always try and make the best of it every year. I hate Christmas but now that I have a little one of my own, I try to get into it. This year has been really fun so far! The little “Ho Ho Ho” every time there is a red hat anywhere is priceless 🎄🫶🏻 Merry Christmas! 🎁
