Meal times/schedules??

Hi all! My 16 month old is not the best eater, but she loves milk. We think she’s filling up on milk and not super hungry for real food. We’re thinking of switching up her schedule to make mealtimes prior to her milk times and want some input on what others are doing. Her current schedule: -Wake up 6:45am ~ given a 6oz bottle of whole milk -8am sit down to eat breakfast -Usually a snack between breakfast and nap -11am-1:30pm nap time and 8oz bottle of whole milk -1:30pm lunch (never eats much) -Usually small snack between lunch and dinner -Dinner 5:30 (eats the most out of any meal) -Bedtime 7pm ~ given 8oz bottle of whole milk Would love your thoughts and schedules! Thanks!

My LB is the same way, he was slow to solids and just wanted milk. One thing we do is offer him little munchies and water first thing in the morning while we are all waking up and preparing breakfast. Usually it’s a mix of cheerios and freeze dried yogurt bites. We don’t do our first bottle until late morning after breakfast. We are trying to wean him off this bottle. I just started offering him a yogurt pouch instead of the bottle.

@Cass this is really helpful! How soon after waking up do you do breakfast??

Oh good! We are usually eating breakfast an hour after he wakes up.

Lately our schedule looks like: 7 am wake up / morning snack & water 8 am breakfast 10 am yogurt pouch 11:30 am lunch 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm 8 oz bottle / nap 2:00 pm - second lunch 4:00 pm - fruit/veggie pouch 6:00 pm - dinner 7:30 pm - 8 oz bottle / bed time If he really wants a bottle throughout the day, we will give him a small one. We usually do this when we are in the car or a situation he wants more comfort. We do water in his bottle for night wake ups after we brush his teeth - sometimes milk if he’s having a hard night. He was slow to eating solids. We started offering at 6 months but he wasn’t really swallowing anything until 12 months. Now at 15 months, he’s really taking off and eating all the time which seems to have him asking for bottles less. It was all in his own time!
