Refusing milk

My little one the past few days has only been taking 8oz on a morning then 2 or 3 Oz throughout the day and maybe about 5oz at night. She's just refusing her milk but if we offer her solids she will eat that. I always offer milk first but refuses but is clearly hungry as she eats all the food we offer. She's usually has porridge on a morning then either scrambled egg or fruit at lunch and for tea it's usually veg, mash and some protein. I've started mixing in her milk to the mash and porridge to get more in her but I'm concerned about her not taking her milk. Any advice?

Hey! We are in the same position. I’m just constantly offering her milk and also adding it to her porridge and offering it on a straw cup x

Aww nice to know someone is a similar position but it's such a worry. She will drink a bit more out a cup especially if I'm having a coffee 😂 tried different size teats but that's just not cutting it for her

I changed teat too but she doesn’t care for it lol. She’s also lost weight but I can’t exactly force her to eat or drink! So I’m just letting her lead x

My LO is the same. He’s dropped to a morning, night and bedtime bottle and barely drinks a full 8oz. He eats 3 meals a day and drinks plenty of water. We also put his formula in breakfast and recipes. HV said as long as he’s having 500ml a day, gaining weight and weeing/pooing regularly then not to worry. She said if he has less than 500ml for a long period of time then vitamin D will be a worry. Hope this helps

@Sophia this is super helpful, thank you I'll bare in mind the 500ml.

My little girls the same! She has recently had a cold so thought it was that but she’s just not going back to how she was, she’ll have maybe 4oz instead of 8!xx

My little girl is the same. She was drinking near on 30oz in a day and now all of a sudden it’s dropped. She will drink 5oz throughout the night and for her first bottle and then during the day will only have 2oz or 3oz here and there. Not sure what’s happened or why but she does still eat her food and I give her water with her dinner. Nice to know I’m not alone in this though.

She's been teething and got one tooth so maybe it's the next ones coming in too, I heard teething or colds can do this to them. Appreciate all you ladies 🙏

In the same position but I reckon it's cos she has a cold and teething so is preferring food as it's easier than having a bottle. Will see what she's like after she recovers. I've contacted the HV to ask as well.
