Yep. He’s the a$hole. My (now EX!) husband did something similar to me. I was going through a mysterious illness with my long Covid and feeling dizzy ALL of the time. I mean, I was going down the stairs on my butt with my 6 year old, my 3 year old and my like 9 month old, in my lap because I was so afraid of falling I was so off balance. I kid you not, I could be sitting on the sofa and feel like I was going to tip over! One night I was so bad, I couldn’t even help put my babies to sleep. I was laying in bed SOBBING and he comes in. I tell him that I’m absolutely TERRIFIED that my life was over. I’m going to be left to parent from the sidelines. That this is it, from now on. No joke, the man patted/rubbed my knee for about 90 seconds before telling me that he was going to go get gas before the pumps closed so that he didn’t have to leave early for work the next day. 😐😐😐😮😵💫😵😱🤯🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Key word in that story: EX husband!!!
@Alissa wow so glad his an ex, I had Covid when I was pregnant and I’m pretty sure I have Long Covid but my fiancé used to make sure I had Eve try thing I needed when I had Covid. Hope you’ve found someone else that treats you better
Not yet. We’ve been separated for almost 2.5 years (wow! Didn’t realize it was SZo long.). Sept 9, 2022 was D day when all of his nasty, dirty little secrets came out. He’s unfortunately still living here, but only for 60 more days. I can FINALLY be free of him then!!! Problem is, he’s trying to take my babies 50%, when he’s not even physically ABLE to care for them then because the dumbass will be at work. 🙄 So I guarantee there’s going to be more court in the coming days. Sigh. 😔 Gotta get my babies, then we can all finally move forward with our lives TOGETHER. Side note: I lost my (very close) mom this past September. She also spelled it Kathryn. Not a very common way to spell it so your post got me all emotional like now. 🥰😔🥺
Does this apply when, 6m pp i had severe stomach ache and hubby had plans to meet friends but i skipped due to sudden stomach ache. My in-masses were at home all the time. And hubby was like it's anyway bed time so just go to bed and sleep well. MIL will take care of the baby while i come home. and he went at night for a few hours! I was upset but i let it slip! Is this okay or it was bad choice on his part? I mean if he was 6months pp and in sudden pain i wouldn't have left him!
Sorry to interrupt, couldn't hold back!
He should have stayed !
You told him to go. Unless you say you got worse he won't understand it that way. He thought you were just changing your mind most likely. Call him while he is away and tell him you feel even worse than before
@Alissa I’m glad you got out of that situation for you and your babies! Keep fighting mama!
@Dianna I know, I just wish men could read between the lines ya know
Thank you, me too! I will fight for them with every breath I have in me!
Oh yea that's rare. They need us to communicate. They aren't mind readers. And they want us to be direct and to the point. Cut out all the extra fluff. Lol.
I’m of two minds, one is that you said repeatedly it was still ok to go and only changed your mind last minute however my other mind is I know my husband would never leave me like that and I wouldn’t even need to say stay or go. I think you should talk to him and say a decent husband / dad would know he needs to stay home regardless of what is said. The petty cow in me would wait until he’s ill and leave the kids with him while I go out 😂 Realistically though you both need to have a talk about your expectations as parents and partners.
Yes I’d be pissed lol. But I also would have told him to stay home. If you had said “I’m very sick please do not go to this party” and he still left? That’s a huge problem. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say he might not have realized how bad you felt.
What a pos. He should have stayed with you and the kids and took care of you.
