Paranoia

Im 35+2 and I was admitted into hospital with high blood pressure and I'm literally paranoid that I'm going to be admitted again due to my blood pressure spiking or its going to be high. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi sweetie, I’ve had this my blood pressure just wouldn’t stay down but as long as the baby meets the ‘Dawes Redman’ machine- they should just let you go home. However, it could be something underlying like anemia or a condition to do with the heart, or even pre-term labour- and those are the things they need to look out for. But usually a slight increase of blood pressure is not cause for concern x

But even then they may insist on you having a monomer infusion if your iron is the cause or to have an echocardiogram to see if there’s an underlying cause x

Yes - it could be a sign of pre-eclampsia, that’s what I had. My blood pressure would not go down and I was about 8 months pregnant. They took me to the triage Bec my blood pressure was just getting higher (about a week of constantly increasing BP), they did some testing and immediately took me in and started inducing me. Please speak to your doctor to monitor it. Pre eclampsia is serious - most especially when it becomes eclampsia.
