My middle kid used to twirl his wrist at about this age, he stopped though. I’m pretty sure he’s autistic/ADHD but my first definitely is and she didn’t do it. April baby doesn’t do it but I assume she’s ND because the rest of us are. It’s normal behaviour, idk if it’s neurotypical behaviour (in part because soooo many kids go undiagnosed, myself included)
My friends daughter (10 months) had this a few months back and she straight away thought autism. I asked my speech therapist friend and she didn’t think autism. She’s stopped now. As of today - my baby didn’t wrist twirl but she was in her bouncer kind of doing wind the bobbin up motions (not that she knows these). I filmed it but didnt think autism (I’m an OT).
my baby has done this since being a newborn, kept thinking he’ll outgrow it but does it from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep. He has a few early signs of autism/ADHD and both run in my family with me having ADHD but could also just be common baby behaviour. A DR i spoke to said they don’t start assessing them earliest 2 years old so we’ll have to just wait and see but I’m sure their just figuring things out and all will be fine x
My girl is your same and she is 8 months. She does it a lot when she's eating or excited. I also thought the same but not sure what to make of it
