Weaning

How are you all serving the food you have to baby? I started on purées and added finger foods in at 8 months. He now has toast, chips, roasted veg etc. but always with a puréed meal such as spag Bol, curry, chilli. I’m wanting to start serving it more as we have it but I’m worried about pieces of onion and small strips of foods. How do you all serve it?

Highly recommend checking out Solid Starts app. There are detailed picture / videos and video examples of age appropriate servings for an entire library/catalogue of food. We've always given her large chunks to hold as per the advice on Solid Starts at what we learned at our Infant First Aid Course

With dinner we just give her what we are having 80% of the time if it’s something with pasta or rice etc. I just make sure I shred the meat and cut things as needed for example I cut coin shaped carrots in half the other day when we had a stew

I pretty much do what we do these days

My lo has had both spag bol and chilli this week just served the same as ours. I spoon fed the chilli cos I thought it'd be too hard / messy to hand scoop! (haven't given her her own cutlery to use yet), and only chopped the kidney beans in half, otherwise same as ours. And chopped the spaghetti up a bit, but just gave that on a plate for her to scoop.
