@Jasmin same exact thing here with my lb, he can say a lot of words but usually when pushed to do so, he loves counting and his colours and has a really good understanding of things, just getting him to speak “properly” is a pain rlly hope he comes along soon aha
My son is 2yrs 4m and it's mostly a few words and gibberish ALL day 😂 he can say 3-4 word sentences like "I too little", "what is it?", "where it go?", "go over there" etc but it's mostly just a few words
@Katie my son is not putting words together see, I’m only getting one word answers, only now and then I get multiple words such as “knock on door” or “open door” I dont know if my worrying is needed :/
My son will be 3 in February and is non verbal but he’s autistic. If he’s saying bits I wouldn’t worry
If he has a few words already the best thing to do is expand and interpret. If he says “ball” expand by saying “I see a ball” or “red ball.” Don’t ask him to say it or repeat it back to you. If he is pointing at something like a toy and saying gibberish, interpret by saying “I want my toy.” Again, don’t ask him to say it or repeat it back to you, just hand it to him and say “here’s your toy.” Get in the habit of doing this and in a short time you will see him “absorbing” the expansions and interpretations. He’ll start repeating them back to you and eventually say them unprompted.
Incognito, I just spend a lot of my time narrating my day to my son and basically doing what Genevieve suggested. Kids are like sponges and they absorb a lot more than they let on in the first few years of their life. He'll get there. Every child is different. My boy wasn't talking much at all until he started nursery in August but now both us and they have noticed a huge change in his speech ability.
lol I’m sorry bt this is completely irrelevant to ur poll question bt that “30 months” had me so confused mama. I’m so bad at math, I had to google it, cuz I really didn’t want to hurt my brain doing the mental gymnastics in converting months to yrs lol. Bt it says its a 2 and half yr old :) Glad I googled it cuz I had no idea. bt My son turned 3 in September and when he was that age he was just saying a few words here and there at the time. Mostly just repeating and regurgitating everything he heard :) he still does that now bt it’s more clear and full sentences! Bt omg he is like a little parrot, jus always chirping away
