Little miss was doing well until her heart rate dropped suddenly. A doctor and two nurses came in. One nurse puts a cannula in and put me on fluids. Another checking my blood su...

Has anyone given birth at St. Joe’s?

I’m wondering what your experience was. My OB delivers out of that hospital and I’ve never actually been before but it looks pretty old and haunted from the outside 👻

Is Overlake medical a good option for minimal intervention birth?

Hi! I’m currently seeing an obgyn through Overlake medical. For those who have gone through Overlake, how was the birth experience? For me personally, I don’t want many birth interventions and want to have as natural a birth as possible (but in a hospital setting in case of an emergency). Did anyone have a positive ...

Anxiety meds during c-section?

Im extremely anxious about my upcoming c-section, and wondered what kind of sedatives are offered for the procedure? I’ve read that in the UK they don’t like to give sedatives for c-sections, but if this is not an option I’ll have to ask for general anaesthesia which seems worse. I have anxiety generally, and have a...

Will she be here soon?!

I had my weekly appointment today I’m 37 weeks. I told my doctor I’ve been having a lot of pain and she offered to do a cervical check. I’m 4cm dilated! She was surprised herself and said she wasn’t expecting me to be 4cm. Some of my mucus plug came out with blood during the exam. I wish I knew how much more time I ...

Late October babies

Has anyone else not yet delivered their little one? My girl’s due date has come and gone. I had a failed induction. We spent 7 days in the hospital and they are sending us home to try again on Thursday. She may be a November baby. The whole experience was surreal and a little traumatizing but we’re hanging in the...

Looking for some support

Today at my 16 week (currently 17weeks) midwife appointment, I was asked about what I would like to do regarding birth. Obviously I stated VBAC. Midwife was supportive however, did say that I would be consultant led and not be able to birth at the birth centre or home. I’m not bothered about home birth but would ha...
