We are doing major renovations in the house we bought and I have been sanding some walls + stand on dusty rooms. I now read that it might not be healthy for the baby. So I’m thinking to stop helping with the works until we are only painting / decorating. Any experiences or knowledge on the topic? Thank you!
Things are getting more and more expensive nowadays, it hard stay home with your babies! But at the same time they are so little and no daycare will take them. I just feel so torn. I don’t really want to separate with my baby yet😫 but I can’t afford to stay home forever🤧

My daughter will be starting school within the next year. What are some things you guys do to prepare your children? My daughter is very clingy and gets very shy in public. I’m a stay at home mom because daycare is just outrageously expensive these days. Any suggestions?
Really need your feedback please 💕💕 Nursery mums - Would you use a wraparound service where an Ofsted-registered nanny handles the busy morning routine (wake-up, breakfast, nursery drop-off) and/or evening care (pick-up, dinner, bedtime)? They’d be available through your nursery. A service designed for busy…
Does anyone follow a schedule with a 4 and 1 year old? I’d love some insight please.
Hi moms! My daughter goes to a Montessori day care where she can go till she is 6 but we are confused if we should let her continue till she is 6 or enroll her in a school at 4 years old? Any suggestions or advise? We are very happy with her current day care.
Hi, Just checking whether this is the same for everyone else. My nursery always seems to be off during festive periods. They were closed 2 weeks over Christmas. A few over Easter. They often don’t open on Bank Holidays. They are off for another two weeks for summer in August. Is this common practise? The time off ...
I am bit confused about the funding, so we have decided to split the hours over the whole year not just term time, which works out to 11 odd hours per week. But how do they work during bank holiday weeks? Childminder doesn’t charge for bank holidays, so if my little one is going 4 days that week, do we still get the...
So I’ve just been offered a part time remote job for Saturdays and Sundays which is so ideal as my son’s dad can look after him on weekends. It pays me just enough that I’ll still get UC on top. My son’s one and he isn’t walking or talking yet and I really want him to have social interactions with other kids so I w...
This is a daft question I’m sure but both my partner and I work and on a fair income but when I gave birth my midwife told me to sign up to some sort of benefit thing that working parents could apply for. I just can’t remember what it’s called, I think I receive £95 a month, but would like to know what this is called…
Hey guys I just wanted to ask for advice about how you work with a little one. If I can see schedules of your day working remote and haveing a baby. For reference my baby is 4 months old, will be 5 months old when I start. His GMA will help but I just wanna have a routine in place to help her out. Thank you.
Will our babies be entitled to 30 hours from September? I’m getting confused
Hi all! Today my daughter started with the nursery and the settling in is basically just two days of two hours and I wasn’t even allowed to enter. Is this common in London? My daughter was so distressed when I took her 🥺 I know in other places the settling is few weeks and a parent can be with their child
Hi! What are you guys paying in your area for sitters and are you feeding them dinner if they are babysitting between 5-7? 👀 *same question applies for lunch
how do you claim daycare expenses? do they give you a t4?
If you have children in a nursery setting, could you please let me know when is usually a good time for you to attend an online webinar lasting 45 minutes? I am just trying to get a general idea because I am planning a webinar with a nursery and we struggle finding a suitable time that would work for all parents. T...
Is anyone else already panicking about school holidays for when they’re in school? There’s 13 weeks of school holidays a year and I get 23 days holidays from work.. how is everyone going to make it work??
Hi! I will be going back to work full time in January 2026 and my little one will have just turned One. I will need to find a nursery to cover childcare for two days a week. I'm extremely nervous about this as she'll still be so young. Can anyone recommend a really good one in the area? And do I need to apply now? ...
