Very long post coming… I really need some advice on how I can claim some sort of benefit, if I can before baby comes, or any other way to increase my income? I have used the online calculator and it says that I am entitled to nothing (until baby comes). I work part time (average 26.25 hours a week). I’m due to g...
I’m scheduled to go back to work next week and let me tell yall how much I’m not ready. Wish I could get paid to stay home a little longer. The longest I’ve been away from baby boy is 6 hours to get my hair done. I’m going to be working 10 hour shifts and my job is an hour away. 😭😭😭
I'm set to change careers next year; going into a trainee detective programme with the police where the only info I have so far is that it's 40 hours per week on a non set shift pattern of a variation of shifts throughout a 24 hour period. I have fears of how this will affect my LO and am looking into wrap around ty...
Can someone explain to me what qualifying week is for maternity pay ? What if your off sick in that week do you still get paid ? I should be getting full pay for first 4 months and then it's SMP for the rest.
Random, nonbaby related post! We really struggled during my maternity leave financially, I was only on statutory mat pay and our mortgage practically doubled. I’ve been putting things on credit cards for baby but I’ve never had so much on my card. It’s making me so anxious that I’ve got so much (£4K) on a credit card…
Hi! I have a colorful educational and career background, and decided to stay home with my kids full time in January of this year (my kids are newly 3, 3, and 16 months). The cost of daycare for 3 was nearly my salary, and we were all stretched thin and feeling rushed. When my twins go into elementary school I’m th...

Hi ladies. I’ve not managed to ask HR about this yet so thought I’d put it out here in case fellow NHS employees know the answer 😀.. I’m due to return from maternity leave to my NHS role (Wales) in early 2025, I’ve taken a year off. I will have a year’s worth of annual leave to take - accrued during maternity…
I’m in an unusual situation where my husband’s paternity leave policy is better than mine, so he’s taking more time off. We’ve both been home with our son since he was born, and I’ll soon be returning to work while he continues to stay home with our son for a few more months. I’d like to make his life as easy as po...
Hello, I am located in the US but was just accepted for a Customer Service Representative job for Dexus Capital Partners. I can’t find much online about it other than it’s a huge company in Australia. I even went as far as to look up the guy I was interviewing with (over Teams meeting app because of the time diffe...
Baby girl will get here in early September, but since I didn’t finish my bachelor’s degree and am taking a semester off of college, my first loan payment is $230 in November. We most definitely do not have that extra $200 in our budget. Does anyone have any leads on part time work from home jobs or some pretty lucra...
I have recently became a single mom. I have been a SAHM for over a year now. I would like to find a remote job that way I can continue to stay at home with my premie son. I have applied for a few jobs around my area. I haven’t heard back yet.
Maternity leave is coming to an end. I have up to 1 year after returning to take my accrued annual leave. Which would I find more beneficial, take it all at once before going back to work (so 14 months leave) or spread the annual leave across next year (12 months mat leave). Anyone have any advice on this?
Anyone used Gaia funding? What's your experience?
I am currently a SAHM with a toddler & infant. Once my toddler starts pre-school in September I want a WFH part time job where I can choose my own hours. Please give suggestions of what i can do. TIA x
Hello everyone. We moved to Belgium 1,5 years ago. My baby is. 1year old, and I'm a stay-at-home-mom. Before I found out I was pregnant I was an English teacher in a big academy in Spain. Now I am desperate for some kind of remote job, to have a bit more freedom/ flexibility. Can anyone give me any suggestions where...

So I’ve just had my 37 weeks appointment with the midwife and have been told baby is back to back. Any idea how I could get them out of this position? I have heard horrible things about back labour so any advice please xx
Did anyone else not return? Did you have to pay all your salary back? Was it in instalments? If you do go back how long do you have to stay before you can leave with no repercussions? My contract doesn’t say anything on the matter
So there is no way in hell I will starting my own business anytime soon. I already have my hands full. However, it’s always been my dream to have my own “mum cafe”. Like a little soft play/kiddie area and obviously cafe area for the parents😅 I’d love to bake all the cakes, traybakes, cookies etc. Just do not have…
