Hysterectomy questions

I am 26 and am starting the process to get ready for a hysterectomy. I am a little nervous. And tips or things to look out for? I have so many questions. I will be keeping my ovaries but everything else is coming out. 1. Do you feel any different after like how are your hormones? 2. How long is the recovery? She told me 12 weeks with no sex. Is that the normal? 3. Is sex different afterwards? One of the reasons for this procedure is because I have extremely painful periods and sex he hits my cervix and my uterus.

From what I know the cervix will still be there and can still be hit.

She said the cervix is also coming out. 🤷🏽‍♀️ the only thing that would be left is my ovaries

Weird cuz medically I know they leave the cervix to close the vagina at the top otherwise it would just be open to an internal cavity. You can look up the animated hysterectomy video on YouTube it shows a 3d rendering of how its done

I feel different afterward, (post-op & recovery) but I was in a lot of pain before. It was a relief to me. I feel a weird sometimes when I would have had a period. Sex is great! No problems there. The true bonus of the year has really been no period to worry about! I didn't wait the recommend time to have sex with my partner. I don't recommended you do that, of course. But, I was ready to go!! After being in pain and sex-free for so long before the hysterectomy, I wasn't listening to the paperwork!

Did they remove your cervix also? They’re removing mine

Yes. They had to. It was part of the problem.
