Floor Bed 👏

Hi mamas, so a few weeks ago there was a post about floor beds & whether they work. Here to tell you that they do!! My little boy HATED the cot & his sleep went to sh*t at 16 weeks old.. I’m talking he would wake up every 30/40 minutes on the worst nights 😴 We basically co-slept for 6 months! We made the floor bed 3 weeks ago now - cut down a wooden double bed frame - and it has been a game changer!! We are a while off sleeping through I think but now we’re getting good stretches & only waking once or twice. When we need to me or my husband just grab the spare bedding & get in with him for the last part of the night. Wish we’d of done it earlier 🩵

Thanks for sharing this - I have been debating. My husband just thinks he will just crawl out the bed all night - are you finding that happening? My boy has never slept in his next to me let alone a cot so I seriously doubt us buying a cot would be a success!

@Hattie So when he wakes up he’s just been sitting up waiting for us. That was one of our worries too but so far he hasn’t 🤞 He has rolled off but he actually stayed asleep 😂x

We swapped to a floor bed few weeks ago too. I just removed one side of her cot and cut the legs off. She now wakes onto twice a night instead of multiple times. She will generally sleep all evening too as opposed to waking every item we put her down.

My LG has been in a floor bed since she was three months and she loves it. She is now nearly one. She doesn’t crawl out, only time she does it is at 6.30am when she wakes up and she goes and play with her toys and I stay in bed for another half hour 🤩

Another floor bed lover here and no she doesn’t crawl out of it!

This sounds great thanks!

We've got a floor bed now and omfg I've never slept so good since being pregnant and having her

I have one now too! He doesn’t always sleep better than in cot my it’s made my life so much easier!! Picking him up and rocking him 5/6 times a night became mentally and physically draining and he is a 98th centile baby so very big. Floor bed meant we can lay with him and roll away and it’s so much easier x

Does anyone have any pictures of their set up they’d be happy to share and what mattress are you using? We cut the legs off the bed frame but it still seems quite high so haven’t tried LO in it yet 🙈 xx

Following as we’re in the same debate lol

@Hollie honestly I wish I’d done it sooner!!xx

@Yaz this looks ideal, thanks so much! Can I ask where you got the floor bed? A lot I’ve seen have frames all round but my LO is a climber so this style would be perfect for us! X

@Lauren thanks so much ❤️

@Natallie https://kiddirooms.shop/lasse-duo-montessori-bed-for-kids-toddlers.html The website has got mixed reviews - I think it poses as if it’s UK based but I believe they’re actually in Poland but could be wrong 😂 I didn’t have any problems except the update on your order is zilch unless you email customer services, and it took a little longer than the time stated on the website (about 17 days). But I’m happy with the quality and so much cheaper than Etsy!

@Yaz hey I was interested in this one but worried the gaps in bars would be too big / not safe for baby. How have you found them? Xx

@Leah exactly why I didn’t get it. The gaps are wider than the recommended.

I’ve just checked and the gaps are slightly bigger than 8cm but there’s no way her head could fit through there! There’s also no space anyway with how tall the mattress is but defo good point to think about 👍🏼

@Yaz thank you for reply xx
