What birth control are you on ?? I have the implant put in when my daughter was 5months abs I’ve had no issues with my milk X

@Courtney depo shot

My doctor told me that if your goig on the pill you need the one that doesn’t have estrogen cause most contain estrogen. Since estrogen decreases milk supply if you get one that is just progesterone and not estrogen (this will decrease effectiveness) then you will be okay to be on the pill

@Courtney I think they are talking about the pill

I was on the shot when I was younger and I hated it. Was bled for like 2 months straight on m off and I gained alot of weight the dr took me off of it

Which BC? I’m 2 months PP and EBF and I’ve been on the mini pill for about 2 weeks

You can use the pill, but it needs to be the mini pill which does not have estrogen. I opted for an iud since the hormones are localized and it has not affected my supply

Mini pill, Mirena IUD, and the copper IUD are the only breastfeeding safe birth control

How did doc not ask if you were breastfeeding first.

@Siu they did…. And still gave it to me without telling me

@Donna wow. Maybe consider a different Obgyn, mine made sure what she was recommending would not harm my milk supply.
