C section

Hello! The first birth was natural, quite traumatic. I was induced at 40 weeks and 3 days, I tore and needed surgery, had a 12-hour labor, took a lot of gas, and at one point, I was unconscious... Before giving birth, I went to the bathroom where I bled... the pushing moment lasted very little, the baby came out quickly but I tore and then I was in the operating room. I'm pregnant with my second child. Should I consider a c-section? Although the recovery also scares me. Thank you very much. 🥹

Definitely do a lot of research into C-sections, to get as much knowledge on it as well before making whatever decision you feel is right for you! From my experience I will elect to have a C-section if we have any more children, I was induced and ended up having a C-section anyway… our induction was horrible and negative, I didn’t feel looked after or listened to either… (just my experience) whereas as soon as it was decided we’d have a C-section we were passed onto a different team and was looked after so well, and the rest of my daughters birth became a very positive and calm experience, we still got skin on skin contact and my partner cut the cord so we still had all those special moments, I personally loved my C-section even though it wasn’t what I planned. My recovery was really good too! Yes it’s hard but I felt like I recovered better than some people, best advice for that is definitely rest but also move as much as you can as often as you can, the longer you sit still the

Harder it is to move again, so just every now and again get up and just have a little stretch take a few steps and sit down again. I felt good 2 days postpartum (obviously still in a lot of pain) but I was able to walk to the bathroom easily and have a shower wash my hair ect myself. Except as much help as possible as you won’t be able to bend down very well, or pick things up. I had to have help getting my underwear and trousers on as I couldn’t do that myself so things like that you might need help with. A week after my section I was able to go on a short family walk and felt loads better and I think about 3 weeks later I felt almost like myself and had hardly any pain! Xxx

I say if you’re going to have a c-section just try and make sure you have enough support to help you post birth. People to help around your home, be there for your first born, etc as you will need some time to recover.

I would just hire a doula for your second labor. And I second what someone else said, research about a c-section before you jump in. What I think could happen for you with the second is a faster labor with less tearing.

I had an elective C/S and I absolutely LOVED it 🥰 I got to curl my hair, put on makeup, my husband laid right next to me during surgery and prayed for our baby, and best of all… my husband never saw me poop! 😂😂 I also never experienced contractions. I heard I’m not missing out on much 😉

@Ashleigh Thank you so much for the advice and experience you shared with me regarding the choice between cesarean section and natural birth. I genuinely appreciate that you took the time to share your own experience with me and encouraged me to explore all available options. I will carefully consider all the alternatives to make the best decision for myself and my baby. Thanks again🥰

@Jenisha Thank you so much! My husband can have some time off for me. But I want to analyze and make the best decision. Thank you!☺️

@Emily Thank you for this advice! I will consider it! I appreciate it and will analyze the options😊

@Madeleine I had my makeup kit and curler with me, but with how painful the contractions were, I completely forgot about them… those were some extremely painful moments… 😖 Thank you for sharing your experience with me, and I’m glad it was a good one, as it encourages me to consider c-section as an option. Thank you very much!🥰
