Very short naps?

Has anyone else’s baby been refusing to take naps? My son is almost 14 weeks and he has been taking 5 minute naps during the day. The longest one I got him to take today was 40 min, with a total of probably 3-4 naps today. And he has been fighting his sleep so bad lately! He refused to go to bed until almost 12am last night. Any suggestions?

I feel for you! My 12 week old has started doing this. I don't fight the short naps during the day because he is very happy throughout the day but the evening fight can be rough. If he fights going to sleep for more than an hour, he goes for a walk outside and typically falls asleep on the walk. That's what we've found that works for us.

When this happens to my son I give him more contact naps so he can sleep longer. For some reason that put his sleep schedule back in place

I also try to give him his last feeding as late as possible and make sure the bottle is nice and warm

@Amya I usually do at least one contact nap a day, but today I was very busy. I just recently started a baking business and so I was in the kitchen all day except to breastfeed him. But we have a slow weekend coming up so hopefully we can fix it! At night once he’s down he gets a good first stretch of sleep anywhere from 3-6 hours and then is up every 2 hours to eat.

To try to get more contact naps in, try baby wearing too. I use the Moby Wrap and it basically swaddles him against me and I can still get cooking and chores done.

It could be a growth spurt and also they are going through leap 3 which messes with their sleep sometimes and has them a little fussy. 😩
