Just started packing my bags today at 36 weeks! For baby I have - vests, babygrows, hats, a coming home outfit, blankets, muslins, mittens, nappies, wipes & cotton pads. For me I have - disposable underwear, maternity pads, breast pads, a nightie for after baby is born, flip flops, a lightweight dressing gown, and toiletry bag. A few things I need to add are: water bottle with a straw, charger, glasses, colostrum syringes, nursing bras, clothes for me to wear home, a dark towel, birthing comb & lucozade. I’m sure I’m missing things and they’ll come to me over the next few weeks 🥰

100% take a water bottle with a straw! i really relied on my husband holding it to me so i could sip between contractions😅 i didn't actually use much from my bag last time, what becca has said seems to cover it really well!

@keisha My husband did this for me and managed to pour it down my chest 😂 it definitely bought me back into the room haha

I'm going in for my 4th baby soon and I've always been told by midwives that they appreciate bags on wheels. I've got a carry on sized bag with wheels and a handle x

Earplugs, eye mask. Nipple cream. Silver nipple cups, breast milk collector, perineum spray. I think these are must to make you feel comfortable. Optional things I'm bringing are my lavender LUSH spray and JUST eucasol spray, belly cream, plaque for baby for a picture (still deciding whether this is a complete BS or I want it 😀)

Yes what @Becca said is pretty much exactly what I’ve packed too except I’m not bringing any syringes. I’m also bringing my tens machine

Only things to add to the above is if you take wipes pack water wipes as there more gentle for newborn baby. Headphones A book/magazine I also have a small blow up bed with my carry on bag for husband as they don't supply beds ☺️ Lip balm apparently a must A fan with spider legs to fasten to the bed as apparently it gets hot 🥵 (I have to stay in for monitoring for 24hrs after hence the bed and entertainment lol)

All of the above and lip balm! My lips got so dry last time in hospital from gas and air and generally the hospital being so warm so lip balm is a must!! 🤣

Thank you so much ladies! All super helpful suggestions and hopefully for anyone else who’s in the same boat as me packing after 34 weeks 😅

@Gabi is it the Hakka for breast milk collector you’re referring to? I’ve got breast milk pumps so not sure if a collector would still be required?

@Rachel any reccos for the tens machine?

@Jas I haven’t tried it out yet but I ordered one from eBay as I heard they’re good for counteracting contractions. I’m planning a natural birth so anything that can possibly help me is welcome!!!

@Natalie oh bless you i bet it did🤣🤣

@Jas just saw you asked about a tens machine, i also havent used mine yet (totally forgot about it in my first labour😅) but i just picked one up in boots xx

@Jas Lansinoh breast milk collector, suppose similar like hakka. It is absolutely diametrally different than breast pump 🙌🏼😊 Milk collector catches the milk and gives you relief. Best used on one boob while you BF from the other one. It does not increase supply unlike breast pump. So they work differently and are helpful at different circumstances.
