VBAC or Elective section?

Hi all, I had my consultant appt yesterday and 20 week scan. I was 100% sure they were going to say that I would have to have a section due to my previous full dilation section in 2021 and uterine surgery in February but they said VBAC is an option at the moment. My placenta is anterior but it’s clear of my scar and cervix which was great news. I have another check at 32 weeks to see that the placenta is still behaving. They actually said if I wanted more kids after this I should strongly consider a VBAC (I don’t think I want anymore after this baby). Is anyone going for a VBAC? I’m still 90% sure I want another section but now I know it’s an option I would like to at least explore it. Any good resources?

I also had a section in 2021 and had a consultation a few weeks ago. I have a third scan at 35 weeks to see how big baby is measuring and then I’ll hopefully decide from there. This is my last chance for a vbac as if I have a section this time round then any future children will have to be delivered by a section, so I’m praying I can try for a natural birth this time round!🤞

@Demi it’s such a difficult decision isn’t it. The consultant said if I wanted more than two children then I should try for VBAC to avoid multiple surgeries. My main concern is the recovery after vaginal birth if it’s not straight forward. My c section recovery was so easy first time. Hoping you get your wish this time round! Xx

It really is, especially after hearing the risks of each! I’m put off having a section this time round as I feel the recovery may be harder and I struggled with the recovery the first time round. I’ve also been told that the stitches the second time round are metal and have to be removed rather than them dissolving so I really don’t want this x

@Laura amazing thank you!! Haven’t seen this. Will take a look :)
