BRADFORD ROYAL INFIRMARY (Labour and partner)

I’m curious to anyone who has given birth on the labour ward in the middle of the night. Do they let your partner stay with you over night once you have given birth or do they send them home straight away? So if I give birth at 1am would they send him home straight away or would they allow him to sleep on the chair ?

My daughter when I had her there I was allowed someone to stay but then when I had my youngest 2 years ago I wasn’t allowed due to them having restrictions in place I’d give them a ring and ask them and then if get ahead of it and give them plenty of notice could hopefully set something up :) xx

I had mine in July and they did let my partner stay with me, i had my baby at 12pm mid day , stayed the night and they said it was fine

Ye your allowed I was I give birth 7 months ago x

I had my little boy there in October at 8:34pm my partner was allowed to stay the night in the chair but I did have my own room

@Ellie aw thank you and was this on the actual labour ward not birthing suites ? Because I know there are different rules for both x

@Ayman aw amazing thank you x

@Kym thank you x

@Jess ah yeh my sister had hers when there were restrictions which is why I was asking x

I given birth 8 weeks ago and my partner stayed with me nonstop for the 3 days I was there x no problem whatsoever

@Courtney Maw I give birth in birth centre but shouldn’t off they let them stay then when on ward let them stay don’t see them saying no to you

@Courtney Maw awhhh lovely looking at comments they are allowing over night again but I’d Deffinatly ring up and double check congratulations and good luck xx

@Mariana aw thank you was this the birthing unit or labour ward please as apparently they have different rules x

@Courtney Maw I was in labour ward, they said you have one support person with you at all the time :) (plus to mention he was before 2 days more with me on induction suite)

@Mariana aw amazing thank you x

I work in BRI and I went to both birth suit and labour ward a few months back when I gave birth. They let your birth partner (Can have two during labour) stay with you but after birth only one can stay with you the full time for the duration of your stay in the ward. They can sometimes provide a mattress (induction suite not sure about maternity ward) but they will let him sleep on the chair

Hey i gave birth 2 weeks ago at BRI and my partner was allowed to stay over night. They let your partner stay with you until you are discharged X

Down on labour ward your birthing partner is allowed with you all the time it's only up on wards they abit awkward with people staying but people just do it anyways they don't say owt what can they say really my partner stayed with me whole time when I had my baby in May in fact all 5 babies I've had my partner has been with my whole time in hospital don't worry about not being allowed because u are what are they gunna say its not a prison your giving birth or just had a baby it's both parents baby not just mum so they can't refuse the other parent into leaving really xx

Yes partners are 24/7 again xx
