Buying for baby appointments

Hello, I did anyone go to the buying for baby appointments that are offered in John Lewis + other places? Were they worth it? This is our first baby so we are a bit clueless and I believe it would be really helpful. But also don’t want to waste time…

We did the John Lewis appointment and found it really helpful. Also our first baby and didn’t really know what to buy. They were honest too about things we didn’t really need which was handy!

Perfect, thank you so much!

Same for us too! Our first baby and we enjoyed the appointment with John Lewis, found it useful and there was no pressure to buy which made the experience even better :-)

Yh we did the John Lewis appointment too and they were really good at recommending cheaper alternatives and explaining why certain products were better than or more practical than others. With no pressure to buy that day but gave a 15% discount. Would recommend!

I did john lewis and mamas and papas for prams and car seats specifically and found it really helpful. As first time parents we had no idea about all the details and options! X

We went but tbh the best thing for us was the Baby Show (which btw is next month in Olympia). Huge trade show, everyone there including John Lewis and M&P. All the brands to try out and test drive, talks, huge discounts on bundles too and free delivery. We went for a look and ended up with everything ordered from cot to car seat.

Bear in mind they will have you buying all sorts and upselling. From experience, you don’t need half as much as what you’re told/sold!

John Lewis were great and the discount on the total amount was good as I was buying a pram too x

We went a couple of days ago and found it super useful (also our first baby so we were clueless) the guy we had was very good at explaining what we actually need and what things are just gimmicks. There’s also a good discount they give you on money off your order

We did the John Lewis one for the pram and car seat. Found it very helpful and they send you a list of products discussed after the appointment. No pressure to buy them x

We did John Lewis and had an account with them so got 25% off our order which is basically the main reason we did it! 100% recommend! Although prepare to be frustrated by some of the suppliers delivery times/options. They didn’t try to upsell us at all really just showed us exactly what we wanted them to and helped us make the decisions we weren’t sure about. I got everything that was on my to-buy list and didn’t buy anything I hadn’t planned to buy going in.
