Group strep B

Has anyone tested positive for group strep b? My midwife called today to tell me I had (after weeks of pestering them - long story). I’m now feeling mega anxious about having a VBAC and the risks to my baby :( any advice welcome!

I am, they have just said that you need antibiotics during labour. It wasn’t picked up last time with me and my little boy was fine; if I have it this time, i would have had it last time as it lives on you xx

I have! they’ll give you antibiotics once you go into labour to stop it from being passed from you to baby, but really nothing to worry about 😊

Thanks both! That’s reassuring to know. I have an appointment Monday to ask questions etc so will hopefully feel a bit better after that too. Xx

I did with my last pregnancy. You have antibiotics every 4 hours during labour and they then monitor baby a little more closely . But, generally no real difference from normal observations/wait in hospital x
