I'm 38+2 and have had small amounts of liquid each morning. Didn't do anything until this morning when it was more and went to triage with a pad on. Turns out it is my waters and they've basically been coming out fully since then. They monitored me and gave me the option to go home or stay as labour hadn't started. I'm at home now monitoring but I would say best to get checked by triage if you can. Especially if you have some pains too
@Danielle so it was actually your waters! Do they not need to induce you if this happens early or can you just go on about your life ?
@Charley Yh doesn’t smell like pee at all so will probably just get checked
From what my midwife told me if you have group b bacteria GBS (or at least I think it’s called that) you will be adviced to be induced immediately as there’s higher risk of infection if not you can wait it out to see if you go into natural labour
I thought they would need to keep me in but they asked if I wanted to stay or go home and gave me 24 hours to go into labour. Advised to check temp regularly for signs of infection and to monitor movements. I felt like mine were reduced so came back this evening and now I'm admitted and staying in for induction. I was really hoping I'd start contracting but I've only had a few. Will see what happens in the night. Hope all okay when you got checked!
Best to speak to your maternity triage. They can swab to see if it's waters or not. If it's urine it very obviously smells like urine in your pants.
