First emergency section

Any first C Section mamas who had an emergency section - how’s your recovery going? I’m only 6 days post section and just had my dressing removed - the scar itself looks lovely just really struggling with recovery a bit mentally and physically right now.

Hey aimee, im currently 15 days Post and honestly i still struggle mentally and physically. Tbh ill admit i was crying replaying everything that i can remember the morning of my sons birth... but im here if you wanna talk. Its not easy but itll be okay. I try to listen to gospel music in the morning when I wake up and just when the baby is alseep sleep with him and just rest as much as we can, i dont have help from family members so at times i wanna get up and do chores but then i tell myself relax because my body does hurt. Its mainly my stomach area that hurts the most when i move around too much.

I had a category 1a emergency c section on the 20th of August and I genuinely think the whole birth has impacted me to the point I don't know if I want any more children, which I hate because I always wanted to have at least 2. It's such a big ordeal, especially when you've got a birth plan and idea in your head of what you'd like to happen and it just doesn't go that way. It is definitely a struggle mentally, but it does get easier. I am looking into speaking to someone about my birth because I don't remember parts of it (,71hrs of contractions and pretty much every form of pain management) and because I didn't plan for it, the physical recovery is very different to what I'd expected. Try not to beat yourself up about it too much, the recovery is long, but at the same time there are perks to it compared to a vaginal birth, so yeah😂 but don't feel that you're alone, there's so many people happy to talk to you about it! X

Message me if you ever need to talk, I'm 6 weeks pp from an emergency c section and for me honestly it was the hardest recovery (don't want to scare you) but everyone is different. But again, please message me if you need any advice or reassurance, and I can even send you pictures of mine as I documented my scar recovery. It can be physically and mentally draining on top of being a newborn mum but remember you're never alone xxx

I’m 7 week pp after an emergency c-section. The recovery has been beyond difficult. Moving around, being isolated due to not driving/being able to walk far… sucked! I started to feel better around week 5 but then got an infection which I’m currently on antibiotics for 😞 it’s sent me back a few weeks.

@Kellie the infections are the worst! I was on antibiotics 3 times. Hope you're OK xxx

Hey aimee, I’m 6 months post my emergency c section and it has changed loads, but my scar had opened up twice and got infected, and I still can’t feel the left side of my belly. Other than that it’s good. Still saggy I honestly wish I could have it flat again hehehe
