I had such a positive induction with my first! One midwife told me to rest, whilst another told me to keep moving if I wanted things to get going! I spent a couple of hours on the ball and contractions started soon after!! Make sure you eat enough and keep hydrated and just enjoy the count down to meeting your baby!!!🥰 I was induced at 2pm and my waters went at 3am and I was already 5cm xx

It really depends on the type of induction you’ll be getting. I had artificial rupture of membranes ARM with my daughter and she was born within 1.5hours. Was a great birth over and done with super quickly. My induction is Wednesday and I’m praying I’m suitable for another ARM and not a hormone induction 😔 Good luck tomorrow and keep us updated!! X x

Good luck! I had a great induction experience with my first. I had the pessary inserted at 7pm Thursday. They then broke my waters about 11am Friday morning, I asked for a delay in the hormone drip to see if my body would start contractions itself but nothing really happened in 2 hours so started the drip at 1pm and had my baby girl at 7.34pm Friday.

I had my induction yesterday. Pessary was inserted around 1pm. Felt slight cramps int the evening starting around 5. They cranked up around 3 am, felt what I thought was mild contractions. Waters went around 5:30 and around 8 was having 3 contractions every 10 minutes. lol didn’t know I was fully dilated and about ready to push. Asked for some codeine to relieve pain and was waiting to be prescribed and body started to involuntary push, just about got me in a delivery suite and baby was out in 4 pushes with no pain relief at all. Very quick labour for me, mind you I was 0.5cm dilated when pessary was inserted. You’ll be fine hun x

@Kirsty typically they can do pessary or balloon to open up your cervix and then break waters! Balloon isn’t hormonal at all so maybe ask whether your hospital can do this for you

@PolinaI wouldn’t have the balloon… I shouldn’t need it as I already know my cervix is open dilated and soft. I don’t really advocate induction tbh as a s-midwife myself I know the road it leads down and the statics of intervention. I’m considering saying no still to the induction still following a cervical examination and its outcome.

Mine was soo good, and easy. Had no tears or stitches. Pushed for 15 minutes it was honestly really blessed. Just keep positive !
