I believe you can’t be induced unless there is a risk to you or baby or if your overdue however you can ask I think my friends sister was induced and didn’t have any issues because she lived far from hospital however this in the end led to a c-section x

I don't believe unless there is risk to you or baby they would offer induction, unless you go a certain amount of time past your due date.

I don't think it would be difficult to ask for an induction in this day and age seeing as how readily they're inducing or how forcefully they're suggesting inductions for people who don't even want them. But it's important to think why you want one, and whether the risks are worth it for you and your baby in your situation.

I did as she was healthy and causing me a little pain but it wasn’t risky, The condition was originally to wait till 37 weeks ended up being 35 weeks roughly I had it as the consultant wanted to bring it forward - baby is 6 weeks old now and thriving

@Shannon you had an induction at 35 weeks without medical indications? That's extremely rare.

@Charley I know! They did all the checks before hand anyway and had regular check ups due to the size of her before giving birth, personally for me it was the best decision!

@Shannon oh when you say due to the size of her I assume they had some concerns then. Was she measuring small?

@Charley she was a very healthy weight they weren’t concerns they just kept asking me what I’d like to do I said induction and they booked it in for 37 weeks had another check up and it was the consultant that brought it forward so I was fine to have it 37 but no idea why they wanted to bring it forward
