I had 6 of each and I went through 5 of each in just over 24 hours.
I’ve put 3 x newborn, 3 x 0-1 and a coming home outfit, might add a 4th in both sizes just incase!x
2x of newborn and 0-3 of short sleeve vests, long sleeve vests and same with sleep suits
I’ve got six vests and 4 sleep suits. Mostly newborn but a couple other sizes incase baby is extra big or small. Worth speaking to the midwives where you plan to give birth though. Mine told me they keep the birthing centre really cosy and encourage a lot of skin to skin so it’s quite normal for baby to be in a nappy, hat and socks. I still have room in my bag though so will no doubt panic stash a few more incase I get transferred to a different unit etc.
I packed so much and actually used hardly anything 🙃 - but definitely agree it’s better to have JUST incase. I packed two newborn vests/sleepsuits and two 0-1 vests/sleepsuits
I haven’t packed yet 🙃 but I plan on packing newborn sizes and the same amount in 0-3 but keeping them in the car alongside a bigger pack of nappies, extra clothes for me and my breast pump incase I need it (the hospital should have some on hand if needed, I already have one from my son). That way I hope to have smaller bags in the hospital with us
I took 3 sleepsuits and 3 vests in newborn/first size. I only used one of each but I gave birth at 11am and went home by 7/8pm 😊
I will do skin to skin, either me or my husband so baby won't need any clothes. Not sure why people packing loads? We only need clothes to go home. So I packed 3 vests and 3 sleepsuits just in case baby vomits or poops through it and needs to be changed or the rare occassion of not doing skin to skin at all times in the hospital. 1 jumper and 1 blanket and socks and hat for outside.
3x newborn vests & 3x newborn sleepsuits I’m also taking 3x each in up to 1 month in case baby doesn’t fit (unlikely but you never know) or in case we run out of newborn. With my first born we ended up needing to stay in for 3 days and he got lots of mucus and blood (pulled my cannula out) on his clothes so I’m glad I packed extra!
X3 newborn and X3 0-3. He's a predicted big baby. I've got another bag in the car with more of both sizes and more clothes for me but will leave that in the car unless I need it
@Ezme This is what I did, I think I went with 4 for my girl because all the outfits were too cute not to pack 😅
Thank you for your replies all. You’ve helped me decide what to pack 😊 xx
You’re better off overpacking than underpacking. I’ve packed 6 of each for each baby
