Section scar care

Ladies how is everyone caring for their section? Obviously wash and keep it clean, I’m a week post op and noticed a bit of weeping? Anything anyone does that helps speed things along or anything ? Thanks !

For me use spirit and cottonwood to clean after bathing. My mother told me so .so it heal fast . It works for me anyways 🤩🤩

I’m 8 weeks PP and still wash it with antibacterial soap! and just dry it really good

When mine started opening up a little bit, I put non stick gauze in between my skin and panties and it helped heal it super quick! My OB suggested putting bandaids on any part that’s healing slower and it will help to kind of “fuse” the skin together!

I use to wash it and then lay flat put fan on and make sure it was dry I’ve had 4 c sections

I didn’t really do much to mine I was told not to put anything on it and to jump st wash it with water. I’d wash it with water when I was in the shower and gently pat it dry with a towel afterwards and make sure it’s fully dry before putting on clothes

-Use a sanitary towel over the scar (sticky part stuck landscape across your pants so covers all the scar) -Use the hair dryer on your scar on cold setting after a shower so your scar stays nice and dry I developed an abcess at week 3 from an infection so really keep it aired and dry ❤️

I had an emergency c-section with my first and the best thing for it is to clean it with water, keep it dry and keep clothes off it. If you can, spend 10-15 mins after shower airing and drying it out properly. Otherwise best thing to do is just leave it be and rest. Mine weeped, it’s part of the healing process x

I bought the FridaMom silicone strips at 5 weeks to help with the appearance as it looked like it had healed, but I think it was too soon - it opened up in 3 places and took a month to heal again. Not sure if the two things were connected but they might have been

After bathing i was using a bit of bactine antiseptic spray and leaving that to dry in front of the fan.

I think having time to let it air dry after a shower is one of the most important things. I was always in too much of a rush and didnt do it (just quickly used a hair dryer on it every time) and I’ve had lots of issues with mine (16 weeks post c section). Now that I’ve slowed down and do that it’s a lot better👍🏻

Clean only with water in shower everyday (no baths until like 6 weeks postpartum), make sure it's completely dry(used hairdryer on cool setting), try and get as much air to it as possible and also use high waisted Knickers for the first 6 ish weeks if not more so no underwear rubs on it!
