Foley bulb (balloon induction)

For those who were induced using a foley bulb… how long did it take for your foley to fall out? Also, when did the cramping stop?

I had with my first. Inserted at 2cm and reached 6cm 3hours later by the time it fell out. The cramping was bearable. The main part that hurt was when it was inserted/removed. I did have the Foley catheter with only 1 bulb. After that I labored on my own. Some hospitals use the one with 2 bulbs and the one with 2 is expected to take at least 24hrs. The one with only 1 can take 12hrs min but in my case it was fast. So if you’re getting it, you can ask which one you’re getting or request the one you’d prefer,

@✨Wis 🇭🇹 thanks for sharing! I currently have the 2 bulb in right now. The insertion was uncomfortable but not painful at all. The first 1-2 hours was like mild period cramps but then they started picking up. I began contracting and they’re pretty uncomfortable. I’ve had it in for almost 8 hours now and the cramps are slowing down a little but I still can’t sit on my bum 😣 Overall I thought it would be a lot worse but still hoping the cramping slows down a bit more so I can get some sleep!

Mine didn’t fall out and I was already 6.5cm. The cramping was really bad at first then contractions for a few hours.
