Thanks! Didn’t even think about bending down to get things out of it. That’s a great point x
To note - with C sections you often go home after one night (i did, wish I'd done another night) but can opt to stay 2 and longer I'm sure if you're really not ready to go home by then.. But I wouldn't necessarily prepare for a 3 night stay :)
Last time I took a massive hold all that my hubby cursed me for. Didn't use half the stuff in there. This time I'm using a cabin bag. And then will have the birth ball, and pillow (for hubby) separate.
I would say don't take a large suitcase, as above they're hard to lift and also usually don't fit under the bed so they take up a lot of space! A cabin bag and a rucksack or holdall is much better
I'm also using a gym bag, I used it last time and it works well because everything fits and it's light enough for you to move around even after a C-section. Then I have a smaller bag with some baby bits - this worked well for a 2/3 days stay
I took 2 bags. Case for me and luggage bag for baby x
I took a cabin sized suitcase with my firstborn and it wasn’t a huge amount of space , I had to take 2 rucksacks too. This time I bought a gym style bag and managed to fit everything in so easily and it’s easy to carry! And then just changing bag for baby’s stuff. You’d think a case would be more spacious but it really wasn’t. I had an emergency c-section and having a suitcase was sooo inconvenient as I couldn’t bend down to open it and I wasn’t able lift it so I had to ask my fiancé any time I wanted anything out of it. Id never take a case again especially for a c-section so that may be something to think about xx
